SC approves transfer of case vs MNLF from Taguig to Pasig

MANILA, Philippines—The Supreme Court has approved the recommendation of the Court Administrator to transfer the venue of the case against Moro National Liberation Front led by Nur Misuari from Taguig to Pasig.

In a two-page resolution, the high court ordered the Pasig City Executive Judge to raffle the case among its family courts.

Among the family courts in Pasig include Branch 158, 261, 69, 163 and 162.

A total of 266 members of the MNLF have been implicated in the bloody siege in Zamboanga City on September last year. They are currently detained in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

All the accused are facing charges of Rebellion and violation of Republic Act 9851 or the Philippine Act on Crimes Against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide and other Crimes against Humanity.

Aside from Misuari, other accused include MNLF Commanders Ustadz Habier Malik, Bas Arki and Assamin Hussin, who all remained at large.
