Aquino satisfaction rating down from +49 to +45

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III’s net satisfaction rating dipped 4 points last month, the Social Weather Stations (SWS) said.

The latest survey from SWS revealed that the net satisfaction rating of Aquino dropped from +49 in December 2013 to +45 in March 2014, still considered “good” under SWS terminology. However, it is 10 points lower than the average rating in 2013.

In the poll conducted among 1,200 respondents last March 27 to 30, 2014, 66 percent said they are satisfied with Aquino’s performance while 21 percent said otherwise, resulting in the net rating of +45.

It is the second lowest rating that the President received, following his +42 rating in May 2012.

More people from Mindanao (72 percent) and Visayas (70 percent) expressed their satisfaction compared to only 59 percent in the National Capital Region and 63 percent in the rest of Luzon.

Among the economic classes, those in class D has the highest net satisfaction rating at +45, followed by E at +44 and ABC at +39.

While both 66 percent of men and women said they were satisfied with Aquino, more women (23 percent) compared to men (19 percent) expressed dissatisfaction.
