Yellow alert up in Samar as LPA approaches
MANILA, Philippines – The weather bureau placed Western and Eastern Samar on yellow alert midday Monday.
This means moderate to heavy rains are forecast and flooding is possible in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.
A weather outlook by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration earlier said that the low pressure area, which was previously tropical depression “Domeng,” would cross the Visayas area on Sunday and Monday.
“Visayas, Mimaropa and the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms as the LPA is expected to cross the Visayas area,” Pagasa said.
By Tuesday, the LPA is expected to have crossed the landmass of Visayas and will be in Palawan.
