MANILA, Philippines—A passenger bus caught fire in Quezon City midnight Saturday, police said.
Sergeant Francisco Maybunga told INQUIRER.net that a Manrose Liner bus caught fire near Robinson’s Novaliches and SM Fairview around 12 midnignt Saturday.
Maybunga said no one was hurt from the accident and the fire was declared out at 1:02 a.m.
He said they found out that the bus did not have any fire safety equipment and urged the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to investigate the bus company for possible safety and maintainance violations.
He added that the bus was brought to the Metro Manila, Development Authority impounding center for further investigation as police have yet to determine the real cause of the blaze.
