Davao Sur cited for tax take

DIGOS CITY—THE Bureau of Local Government and Finance (BLGF) cited Davao del Sur for topping the list of Southern Mindanao provinces in real property tax collections last year.

Ma. Lydia Ellica, officer-in-charge of the provincial treasurer’s office, said the citation-award was given to the province by the BLGF on March 26.

She said last year, Davao del Sur collected P381.5 million in real property taxes out of its goal of P328.6 million.

She said the achievement was part of Gov. Claude Bautista’s aim of boosting collection efficiency. The award for 2013 collection efficiency was not the first for Davao del Sur though.
