Case investigator PO3 Erickson Isidro said Noel Maniulit, 40, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City where he was rushed by his wife and brother after the 10:30 p.m. accident at the Maniulit home in Barangay Tatalon on Thursday.
Isidro reported Maniulit’s wife, Marilen, as saying her husband was playing with his .45-caliber pistol while cleaning it while she watched TV nearby.
The woman recalled seeing her husband cleaning the gun but toying with it at the same time, holding it against his temple from time to time, Isidro said. She warned Maniulit to stop playing with the firearm, but he did not heed her, and finally the gun went off, the investigator said.
Six hours later, around 4 a.m. Friday, another man, Noel Gangano, 28, was discovered lifeless with a stab wound in the back on a footbridge in Sitio San Roque, Barangay Pagasa.
Case investigator PO2 Anthony Tejerero said the victim’s neighbor Ryan Entum was walking near the Vertis North construction site when he saw the victim slumped on the ground.
The witness brought the victim to the East Avenue Medical Center where Gangano was pronounced dead.
