Digos City trader wounded in shooting incident dies

DIGOS CITY, Philippines—Marzo Atillo, 56, the businessman who was critically wounded in a shooting incident on Saturday night, died while being operated on at a hospital here on Sunday.

Supt. Querubin Manalang, city police director, said Atillo died from multiple injuries, including ones on his vital organs.

Atillo, who managed the family’s buildings for lease, was walking along Rizal Avenue when two unidentified suspects on board a motorcycle fired on him using handguns.—Eldie S. Aguirre, Inquirer Mindanao
