More fall in Digos drug war
DIGOS CITY, Philippines—Authorities here arrested three more persons in connection with the heightened anti-illegal drugs campaign, two days after another suspect was caught with about P500,000 worth of “shabu.”
Supt. Querubin Manalang, city police director, said the newly arrested suspects, identified as Sameon Kalilang, 35; Maida Ebrahim, 31; and Arturo Petalino, 35, were cornered inside a lodge on Roxas Extension here on Tuesday.
Manalang said the city police and the provincial antidrugs task force seized four sachets of suspected shabu from the suspects during the buy-bust operation.
“Two money transfer receipts were also recovered from their possession,” he said.
Senior Supt. Michael John Dubria, Davao del Sur police director, said the intensified campaign against drugs had so far led to the arrest of more than a dozen persons since the start of the year.
“They are not the small ones,” he said. Eldie Aguirre, Inquirer Mindanao
