Robbers barge inside house in QC, rob family of P1M
A family lost over P1 million in cash, jewelry and other valuables when armed men entered their house in Quezon City after a member of the household opened the gate to go to school.
Investigators of the Kamuning police station said it took around eight minutes for the thieves to force their way inside the house, tie up all 10 family members, ransack the rooms for valuables and escape.
Kamuning police station commander Supt. Limuel Obon said the robbery happened around 7 a.m. in Barangay (village) Immaculate Concepcion in the Cubao area. A 15-year-old girl had just opened the gate to go to school when two armed men suddenly rushed in, followed by two more.
Once inside, the robbers rounded up the family, tied up their hands and feet with plastic ropes before three more of their cohorts arrived to help them ransack the house for valuables.
Afterward, the thieves fled on two motorcycles and a car. One of the victims was soon able to free himself and call the police for help.—Jeannette I. Andrade
