Run with the Titans slated Nov. 10
ELEMENTARY football powerhouse PAREF Springdale ventures into the sport of running as it hosts the Run with the Titans on Nov. 10 at the Parkmall in Mandaue City.
The running event is organized to realize PAREF Springdale’s charity work by supporting the Kaabag Foundation in its projects for the less fortunate.
Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III of the Center For Sight Foundation will be the project chairman of the running event.
Distances to be offered are 3-kilometer, 7k and 15k. There will also be a kiddie dash.
The event was officially launched yesterday at the Dessert Factory at the Ayala Center Cebu.
Present during the launching was Paref Springdale director Rick Ampiloquio, Dr. Larrazabal, committee on marketing and logistics architect James Co, committee on finance Archie Coros and Ronad Eullaran, who heads the committee on ways and means.
Article continues after this advertisement“We are very excited with this event,” said Ampiloquio. “We want to have an activity that is fit for being healthy. That’s why we decided to stage this running event. It’s also one way of strengthening the bond of the families of our students.”
Article continues after this advertisementThe school’s objective is to raise funds for its charity projects in Cebu, such as conducting feeding programs in 30 barangays all-year round.
This December, the school is also planning to have a four-week feeding program for its Christmas charity program.
The running event is also held in line with the celebration of PAREF Springdale’s Father’s Day celebration.
Veteran race director Joel Baring will handle the technical side of the running event.
Cash prizes will be given to the top three winners in each category.
Registration areas are at the Parkmall, Center for Sight at the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) campus, Shell gasoline station in Lahug and at the Paref Springdale campus. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
