MANILA, Philippines—She may not be on the appointed list of the Commission on Appointments, but Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is unfazed with the setback.
Deputy Spokesperson Abigail Valte on Friday said that even without de Lima’s appointment in the CA, the feisty Department of Justice secretary still has the “tenacity.”
“We do not see any indication that the delay, at least, has affected her tenacity,” Valte said in a media briefing. “So far, she continues to work with the passion.”
President Benigno Aquino III appointed de Lima as DOJ chief on June 30, 2010. But the powerful commission still has yet to confirm her appointment.
Valte said that in her conversations with de Lima, the Justice secretary remained unfazed and instead resubmitted her requirements to the committee.
