MANILA, Philippines – “Pork barrel” scam whistleblower Benhur Luy on Thursday denied any disagreement with his former lawyer Levito Baligod after he decided to drop him as his counsel.
“We aren’t quarrelling,” Luy said, responding to queries by Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero during the Senate investigation into the P10-billion pork barrel scam Thursday.
Luy reiterated that Baligod’s lack of time to help him with his cases was the only reason that he decided to drop him.
He said he needed guidance since he was not knowledgeable when it came to legal proceedings.
Asked jokingly by Senator Francis Escudero if he had something to do with Baligod’s upcoming wedding, Luy said, “Hindi po ako nakikialam sa personal na buhay (I don’t interfere with his personal life).”
