Generally fair weather seen this coming week

MANILA, Philippines—A cold front may form over extreme Northern Luzon on Sunday, bringing light rains and isolated thunderstorms to the region, according to the state weather bureau.

The northeast monsoon, which consists of cold winds from Siberia, continues to affect Luzon and Visayas, but the weather in the coming week will be generally fair, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

“Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains,” the weather bureau said in an advisory.

On the other hand, Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, it added.

The workweek will see good weather in Luzon and Visayas.

From March 3 to 7, Luzon and Visayas will experience “generally fair weather conditions” apart from isolated light rains especially over the eastern section due to the northeast monsoon, Pagasa said.

Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms during that period, it said.

No tropical cyclone is expected this week, Pagasa said.
