MANILA, Philippines—On the first day of this year’s fire prevention month, fire swept through at least eight houses reportedly made of wood in Quezon City before noon Saturday.
Bureau of Fire Protection said in a text message that a residential area along Magnolia street in Roxas district was engulfed in fire.
The blaze was said to have interrupted the ongoing motorcade of firetrucks as part of the BFP’s observance of the 48th Fire Prevention Month.
Radio reports said the fire gutted up to eight wooden houses around 10 a.m.
As of posting time, the fire is currently on third alarm since 10:18 a.m.
No casualties have been reported while the amount of damages has yet to be determined.
