Western Visayas LGUs awarded seal of good housekeeping

BACOLOD CITY — Six provinces, eight cities and 41 towns in Western Visayas are recipients of the seal of good housekeeping for local governments for calendar year 2011 round two, the Department of Interior of Local Government Region 6 announced on its website.

The DILG awards seals of good housekeeping to local governments for internal housekeeping in four areas—good planning, sound fiscal management, transparency and accountability, and valuing of performance monitoring.

The six provinces that received the seals of good housekeeping are Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Guimaras, Capiz, Antique and Aklan.

The eight cities are Bacolod, Silay, Talisay, Bago, Kabankalan, Sagay, Iloilo and Roxas.

Of the 41 municipalities that received the seal, 17 are in Iloilo (Miag-ao, Alimodan, Barotac Nuevo, Calinog, Concepcion, Dingle, Dumangas, San Enrique, Estancia, Janiuay, Leon, Maasin, Oton, Pavia, San Joaquin, Sta. Barbara and Tigbauan); seven in Antique (Bugasong, Caluya, Culasi, Hamtic, Patnongon, San Remegio and Sibalom); five each in Negros Occidental (E.B. Magalona, Hinigaran, Ilog, Murcia and Pulupandan) and in Capiz (Dumarao, Jamindan, Mambusao, Panay and Pontevedra) and four in Aklan (Ibajay, Kalibo, Libacao and New Washington) and three in Guimaras (Buenavista, Jordan and Nueva Valencia). /INQUIRER
