MANILA, Philippines – Two earthquakes rocked Occidental Mindoro and Davao Oriental early Thursday, authorities said.
In its website, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that the first quake hit 58 kilometers northwest of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro at 3:00 a.m. The 2.3 magnitude quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a shallow depth of 33 kilometers.
Minutes later, another quake which registered at 3.9 magnitude, hit 88 kilometers southwest of Mati City, Davao Oriental at 3:16 a.m. Intensity 2 was felt in Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental, Phivolcs said, adding that the tectonic quake also had a shallow depth of 30 kilometers.
Meanwhile, no damages and aftershocks have been reported, Phivolcs said.
