Thieves take P100,000 from coffee shop in QC

Two men took on Saturday night close to P100,000 worth of electronic gadgets and cash from employees of a coffee shop in Quezon City.

The suspects posed as customers of Zhi Coffee Shop on General Avenue, Barangay (village) Bahay Toro in Project 8, before announcing the heist and fleeing with the loot on their motorcycle.

Police Officer 3 Jovy Pobre of the Quezon City Police District Talipapa station, said the robbery happened shortly past 7 p.m. on Saturday as its employees were preparing to close the shop for the day.

According to Pobre’s report, coffee shop general manager Mercy Quedding and her two baristas were busy with chores when two men entered the shop.

Pobre said that as soon as Quedding attended to them, the duo brandished handguns and announced a robbery.

They then divested Quedding of P4,000 in cash, two cell phones worth nearly P80,000 and a bag valued at P2,000.

They also took three other cell phones valued at P10,000 from the two baristas before fleeing on their motorcycle with the loot.
