20 hurt as bus overturns in Sibugay
ZAMBOANGA CITY—At least 20 people, most of them teachers, were injured when a Rural Transit Bus overturned in Zamboanga Sibugay on Saturday, the police said.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesperson of the Western Mindanao police, said the driver of the bus tried to avoid a vehicle coming from the opposite direction but swerved out of control and overturned.
The bus was enroute to Zamboanga City from Marawi City in Lanao del Sur when the accident happened in the village of Monching on the outskirts of the town of Siay in Zamboanga Sibugay.
The victims, who suffered bruises and contusions, were taken to the Pathfinder Hospital in Kabasalan town in Zamboanga Sibugay for treatment, Huesca said.
