MANILA, Philippines—A man accused of killing his wife and son and stuffing their bodies into the trunk of their family car in Moonwalk Subdivision, Parañaque City was arrested in Tuguegarao City Tuesday afternoon.

Danilo Rafael Sr., 55, was arrested in front of Hotel Carmelita at 5 p.m. Tuesday, said Police Officer 1 Pio Calvo Jr. of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Parañaque headquarters told INQUIRER.net.

Calvo said Rafael was escorted by the PNP on his way to Metro Manila and arrived in Paranaque City Wednesday morning.

He said Rafael would face two counts of parricide after he admitted that he killed his own wife Fe Rafael, 54, and son Danilo Rafael Jr., 18, due to jealousy.

According to the police, the victims’ relatives have described the suspect as a jealous husband who was quick to get suspicious of his wife’s actions.

Rafael became the primary suspect in the twin killings when he suddenly disappeared after the crime.

Police said the bodies of the victims were found inside the baggage compartment of the family’s red Ford Fiesta with plate number TQU 896 at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
