Northeast monsoon, easterlies affect Luzon, Visayas Wednesday—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines—Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan and Calayan group of islands), Apayao and Ilocos Norte will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, as the northeast monsoon, or “hanging amihan,” prevails in Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Easterlies, meanwhile, are affecting the eastern parts of Luzon and Visayas.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
