Ex-OFW asks for help for wife suffering from kidney failure

Lorna Gutierrez

Lorna Gutierrez used to be under medication for hypertension until she was diagnosed with a kidney problem.

“I really can’t say if the condition of my wife is a case of taking too much of one thing leading to another,” 68-year-old Eulogio Gutierrez, a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW), told the Inquirer.

Eulogio said he decided to come home two years ago to attend to his 62-year-old wife, who came down with kidney failure, even if it meant giving up his job.

According to him, he had no choice as his children had their own families and could not take care of their mother. Her wife also needed someone to take her to her thrice-weekly dialysis sessions.

Eulogio said that the separation pay he got from his eight years of being an OFW all went to his wife’s treatment. Each dialysis session costs P3,200.

“I am knocking on the hearts of your readers. That’s almost P38,000 in a month alone,” the resident of Mabalacat, Pampanga, said.

Eulogio can be reached at 0926-6574965. Donations can be coursed through his Philippine National Bank account with account number 09125-9500010.
