The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a cease-and-desist order against three bus operators found to be illegally sharing a certificate of public convenience (CPC).
In a statement issued Monday, the LTFRB identified the three as BCB Transport Inc., Worthy Transport Inc. and CEM Trans Services Inc.
The order covers a total of 29 units and will remain in effect until a public hearing to ascertain the veracity of their respective CPCs.
The LTFRB said it issued the order based on the findings of its Technical Evaluation Division on one of the units of BCB Transport Inc. with plate number UYA 994. The vehicle’s body markings, however, showed that it was owned and operated by Worthy Transport Inc.
An evaluation and review of the franchise records of the bus showed that BCB Transport, Inc. under case 2003-0464 was the registered operator although it was now being operated by Worthy Transport, Inc. and CEM Trans Services Inc., without the approval of the LTFRB.
