Body dumped on UP campus; another found in QC

Two men believed to be victims of summary execution were found dumped in separate locations in Quezon City early Saturday.

The first body was found on the University of the Philippines campus by two security guards around 5 a.m.

PO2 Julius Balbuena said a piece of cardboard with a handwritten message “Akyat-bahay ako, wag tularan (I am a burglar, don’t emulate me)” was found placed on the corpse.

The victim was described to be 40 to 45 years old; 5’7” in height; of medium build and fair-skinned with the name “Rhey” tattooed on his chest, “Cleopas” and the devil’s image on the right shoulder, “Reynaldo” on the left hand, a skull on the right hand and “Diestro, BCJ 32 Int’l” on the back.

Security guards Bonifacio Modoc and Agaton Haban saw the man lying face down near UP Veterinary Hospital on C.P. Garcia Avenue. The victim’s hands were tied behind his back with packaging tape, while his chest bore puncture wounds.

An hour later, the bullet-riddled body of another man was found by a village watchman on a vacant lot at Marcos Compound, Pingkian 2, Barangay Pasong Tamo.

The second victim had his head wrapped in a blue shirt, his hands tied up behind his back. He appeared to be 25 to 30 years old, of medium build, about 5’5” in height and fair-skinned.

He also had tattoos: “Ruel” on the right shoulder; “Ontong,” “Jemuel” and “Bhito Morales” on the left, and the image of a skull and the names “Maglaya” and “Magtalas Ygme” on the back.  Julie M. Aurelio
