MANILA, Philippines—Police rescued before noon Thursday a 14-year-old kidnap victim from his uncle, who is a suspected crime gang leader and drug trafficker, in a Quezon City subdivision.
After a week-long stake out operation, Anti-Organized Crime Unit elements of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested Nasrudin Riga on Regalado Street in Fairmont Subdivision in Fairview after kidnapping two victims, including his nephew,
PNP reports sent in a text message said the fugitive wanted for kidnapping with robbery was apprehended around 11:15 a.m. Thursday by the virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the Isabela Regional Trial Court.
The police, however, managed to rescue only one of the two kidnap victims who happened to be Riga’s 14-year-old nephew.
Riga was believed to be crime gang leader who has a pending drug case for trafficking, police said.
