Article continues after this advertisementThe league-leading and undefeated reigning champions University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will be facing off against the third-running University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors while the University of the Visayas (UV) Green Lancers take on the inconsistent University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars.
UC is standing at the top of the mountain with a 6-0 (win-loss) record but is expected to encounter some amount of resistance from the Warriors, who boast of talented guards and wingmen who compensate for their lack of a true man in the middle. Sam Hermosa, Giovanni Padillo and Mike Cantonao lead the USC cast which will do battle against the Junemar Fajardo-led Webmasters.
Meanwhile, the Green Lancers try to start their second round with a bang in their match against the Jaguars.
The Jaguars have just one win to show so far in their campaign this season. They will try to add to that today against the Lancers, which will be bannered by Harold Cincoflores, John Abad, Phil Mercader and Edrian Lao.
In the juniors division, the league-leading Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles gun for their eighth straight win when they tackle the Don Bosco Greywolves while the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats duke it out with the USJ-R Baby Jaguars.
The UV Baby Lancers defeated the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Baby Panthers, 70-67, in a late game last Friday, hiking their record up to 8-1.
