‘Agaton’ damage up at P369M; death toll, 49
MANILA, Philippines – The damage to infrastructure and agriculture wrought by Tropical Depression “Agaton” has risen to P369 million from 328 million with the death toll now at 49, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Thursday.
According to the bulletin, 69 people were also injured with 10 people still missing after Agaton brought rains that triggered landslides and flashfloods across the Zamboanga peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Davao and Caraga.
Of the P369,142,178.22 in damages, P128,513,750 are infrastructure and P240,628,428.22 in agriculture.
The NDRRMC is still under Blue Alert status and advised people to continue to monitor the weather.
A blue alert means 50 percent of NDRRMC personnel are on standby.
