MANILA, Philippines–The Supreme Court has tasked retired Associate Justice Angelina Sandoval-Gutierrez to investigate the alleged link of Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Gregory Ong to pork barrel scam queen Janet Lim-Napoles.

“Associate Justice Angelina Sandoval-Gutierrez has accepted the Court’s invitation to act as its investigator in connection with the administrative case that the Court has initiated on its own against Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Gregory Ong,” high court’s Information Chief Theodore Te said in a statement Wednesday.

Gutierrez was a member of the Supreme Court from Dec. 7, 2000 to Feb. 28, 2008.

The high court ordered an investigation after Ong was mentioned by whistle-blower Benhur Luy during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing as a contact of Napoles.

After Ong submitted his explanation to the high court, it has decided to treat the case as an administrative case against the anti-graft court justice.
