MANILA, Philippines—After a tumultuous 2013, almost half of the Philippine populace felt that their quality of life have either stayed the same, or has degraded, a Pulse Asia survey said.

According to the survey released Monday morning, Pulse Asia said 43 percent of Filipinos are worse off in their life situation in 2013 than in 2012.

Also, 41 percent believe that their situation did not see any improvement from the past year and 45 percent feel that it would be the same for the next 12 months.

A mere 15 percent of Filipinos felt that 2013 brought them good tidings after 2012.

An ironic twist on the number of Filipinos feeling dire in their situation happened on the Yuletide season between September and December wherein the rate increased by +8 percentage points.

Among a sample size of 1,200 Filipinos, Pulse Asia used face-to-face interviews from December 8 to 15 to come up with the conclusion.
