Man gets spa treatment before robbing beauty salon
Police said the robber, thinly built and between 5’6″ and 5’8″ in height, took with him more than P60,000 in cash, cell phones and other valuables from SPA 101 beauty parlor on Wilson Street and two of its employees.
San Juan police chief Senior Superintendent Joselito Daniel said the man went into the salon past 4 p.m. on Monday and asked for a pedicure.
At that time, only employees Angelica Alejo, 19, and Kathleen Anne Medenilla, 29, were in the establishment, Daniel said.
He said that after the pedicure, the man went on to ask for a body rub.
“After having a pedicure, he went to the cashier, but instead of paying his bill, he pulled out a handgun and declared a hold-up,” Daniel said.
The man took Alejo’s phone worth P11,000, and Medenilla’s car keys. He then went outside and unlocked Medenilla’s vehicle.
Apart from Alejo’s phone, the man managed to get Medenilla’s phone worth P30,000, credit cards, ATM cards, cash amounting to P6,000, and an iPad mini.
The man then boarded a black motorcycle, with plate number 5002 QX, parked near the establishment and fled.
Daniel said the police were checking footage from a closed-circuit television camera in the area to help them identify the robber.
He said he was also waiting for the Land Transportation Office to tell investigators who the registered owner of the getaway vehicle is.
