ONE FC nominated in 3 categories in World MMA Awards

THE NEW YEAR ushered in three good news for the One Fighting Championship (ONE FC) after the Singapore-based promotion netted three prestigious and major nominations in the 6th Annual World MMA Awards by Fighter’s Only.

The event, defined by some as the definitive occasion for the recognition of MMA excellence across the globe, is set this Feb. 7 at the 1,814-seater theatre of The Venetian Las Vegas.

Among the nominations received by ONE FC is under the category of Best Promotion, where ONE FC will battle for the honors against the other giants in the industry including UFC, Bellator, WSOF and Cage Warriors. This is the second time that the 2-year-old promotion has been nominated in this category.

ONE FC CEO Victor Cui banners the fight for the other nominations of ONE FC after he got his second nomination for Leading Man of the Year, where he was nominated alongside Lorenzo Ferttita, Dana White and Bjorn Rebney.

ONE FC Lightweight World Champion Shinya Aoki also made it into the prestigious list as a top contender for International Fighter of the Year. Aoki of Japan is sporting a ONE FC record of 34-6-1.

His competition for that award includes Alexander Gustafsson, Conor McGregor, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Alexander Shlemenko. /Correspondent Jade S. Violeta
