Germany’s Merkel injured in skiing accident—spokesman

BERLIN — German Chancellor Angela Merkel was injured in a fall while cross-country skiing in Switzerland over the winter holidays and has cancelled meetings in the next three weeks, her spokesman said Monday.

Steffen Seibert told reporters that Merkel had suffered a fractured pelvis and must lie down as much as possible. She will work from home during this period.
