Most wanted person arrested in Ilocos after 22 years in hiding
MANILA, Philippines—After 22 years in hiding, the Department of Interior and Local Government’s most wanted person in the regional level has been arrested in Ilocos Norte.
Police Chief Inspector Elizabeth Jasmin, Philippine National Police CIDG spokesperson, said Friday that Silvano Rondal, 42, who is wanted for the crime of murder, was caught by the regional police Thursday afternoon.
Rondal, a native of Ilocos Norte, was found and apprehended by the local operatives in Barangay (village) Napu, in Badoc town.
Jasmin told INQUIRER.net that the fugitive has been charged with murder in Bolinao town, Pangasinan province, in November 1991.
An arrest warrant has been issued against Rondal by Judge Leo Rapatalo of Alaminos City.
The DILG has also put up a bounty of P250,000 in exchange for information that could lead to Rondal’s arrest.
