Lions Club District 301-B2 distributes relief goods in calamity-hit areas in the Visayas.
At least 22,000 relief packs worth around P5 million were distributed in various areas devastated by the earthquake and supertyphoon Yolanda in the Visayas.
The Lions Club District 301-B2 led by District Governor Fr. Eduardo Ventic distributed relief goods to the people in Bohol who were affected by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last Oct. 15 and in areas affected by the typhoon in northern Cebu, Samar and Leyte last Nov. 8.
Ventic said they coordinated with their sister clubs in other parts of the world immediately after the two calamities struck.
Ventic said they have been to Sagbayan and Catigbian towns in Bohol, coordinating with the two local government units in the distribution of the relief goods.
After their Bohol stint, they also responded to the needs of the typhoon victims in northern Cebu, Samar and Leyte.
Fr. Ventic thanked the officials of Lions Club District 301-B2 for the success of their outreach project.
Lions Club District 301-B2 composes the Cebu Province, Bohol, Leyte, Samar and parts of Dumaguete.
Ventic is calling on all organizations to support their endeavors of helping calamity victims.
He said this has been the thrust of Lions Club International since it was founded in 1917 by business leader Melvin Jones.
