Consolacion women’s groups receive livelihood assistance

THREE women organizations in Consolacion town, northern Cebu received financial assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE-7) recently.

These organizations are based in barangays Tayud, Nangka and Cansaga.

DOLE-7 Regional Director Exequiel Sarcauga handed over the P300,000 to Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado as the seed money for livelihood projects of the groups.

Mayor Alegado gave each organization a check for P100,000 to start their livelihood projects such as rug making, fashion accessories, decorative wallets, among others.

Present during the turnover were Councilors Nilo Ferraen, Brando Cuizon, Julius Alegado, Iluminado Alin, Association of Barangay Councils president Marilou Casul and Public Employment Service Office manager Romulo Mindajao.
