Fire leaves 9 Mandaluyong families homeless on New Year ’s Eve

MANILA, Philippines–Nine families were left homeless on New Year’s Eve after fire hit a residential block in Mandaluyong City Tuesday.

According to Fire Investigator Rommel de Vera of the Mandaluyong Fire Department, the fire broke out at a residential compound in Barangay (village) Hagdang Bato Itaas owned by Estelita Ramirez.

Although the fire did not last long enough, it razed seven homes leaving nine families homeless.

The fire that started at 11:30 a.m. reached the first alarm but was put out at 11:53 a.m.

No one was reported injured.
