Fire guts 67 houses in Cebu village

CEBU CITY – A fire hit a barangay in Lapu-Lapu City early morning Tuesday and destroyed 67 houses.

The fire occurred at Sitio (sub-village) San Roque, Baranggay (village) Basak at around 2:25 a.m., according to fire investigator Climaco Salisid of the Lapu-Lapu City fire department.

Climaco said the fire, which was raised to Task Force Bravo, was placed under control at 3:17 a.m.

He also placed the damage costs at P540,000. The cause of fire is still under investigation.
