MANILA, Philippines—Power has been restored in parts of Leyte and Samar following service interruption in the area over the weekend.
In an advisory by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, power has been restored as of Sunday morning.
Affected areas were those serviced by local power cooperatives in Leyte and Samar. The power interruption occurred between 11:53 p.m. of Dec. 28 to 3:50 a.m. of Dec. 29.
The power interruption was caused by the tripping of the Ormoc-Babatngon 138-kilovolt line.
Leyte and Samar were the hardest-hit areas by monster typhoon Yolanda [Haiyan] last November.
