A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was accused of robbing a 57-year-old woman in downtown Cebu City yesterday morning.
The boy (name withheld for being a minor), however, claimed that he, too, was a victim.
He said four men had robbed him earlier then ordered him to rob a woman who was later identified as Felicitas Veloria Roble, a resident of barangay Basak-Pardo, Cebu City engaged in buying and selling of purchase order (PO) cards.
Police said Roble was standing in front of a food chain outlet along Osmeña Boulevard when the boy grabbed her shoulder bag containing P100,000.
A commotion ensued when Roble resisted and resulted with bundles of money falling onto the pavement.
The boy picked up the money while pointing a knife at the woman.
PO1 Lolito Amogis and PO1 Policarpio Barliso Jr., who were deployed in the area as beat patrol police saw the commotion and eventually arrested the boy.
Police recovered P100,000 cash from the boy’s possession and a folding knife.
The boy said he was just forced to rob the woman after four men threatened him.
The boy said the four men had earlier robbed him of P500 cash before instructing him to rob the woman.
