1st Diamante inter-municipalities, cities chess opens today

ELEVEN TEAMS from different municipalities and cities of the Cebu Province will take part in the first-ever Mayor Democrito Diamante and Vice Mayor Danny Diamante First Inter-Municipalities and Cities Open Chess Team Tournament today at the Tuburan town plaza.

Teams from Bogo City, Mandaue City, Toledo City, Municipality of Dalaguete, Tuburan, Minglanilla, Argao, Barili, Danao, Carmen and Liloan are those which have confirmed their participation in the tournament that will offer P70,000 worth of cash prizes.

Among those noted players who are expected to join are International Master (IM) Kim Steven Yap, multi-awarded junior player Rhenzi Kyle Sevillano, IM Rico Mascariñas, Eden Diano, National Master (NM) Leonardo Alidani, Richard Natividad and Mario Mangubat./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
