Burglars take P.2M from empty house

MANIL, Philippines – A woman lost over P200,000 worth of valuables after thieves broke into her house while she was away on Christmas Day.

Corazon Paclipan, a production checker living on San Francisco Manggahan Street in Barangay Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, discovered the robbery when she returned home on Thursday.

Police reports showed that the victim left her house early on Christmas morning to be with her relatives in Kaybiga, Caloocan City, and was alerted by her neighbors of the robbery on Thursday morning.

Stolen from her second-floor room were four pairs of earrings worth P50,000, two bracelets worth P20,000, a necklace worth P50,000 and three rings worth P20,000.

The thieves also stole P75,000 in cash, an ATM card and several credit cards.

Investigation showed that the robbers, who have yet to be identified, broke into the victim’s house by smashing the glass windows at the second floor.
