10 injured in Quezon town road accident
MANILA, Philippines—Ten people were injured when two buses collided in Candelaria, Quezon Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
Initial investigation showed that at around 10:30 p.m., a Dela Rosa bus (DVR-444) was hit from behind by a Lucena Lines bus (TYL-195) along Maharlika Highway in Masin Sur village, Candelaria, Quezon, Police Officer 2 Mark Anthony Vito said.
Those who sustained minor injuries were the conductor of the Lucena Lines bus identified as Romanito Castillo Gupit; and passengers Rachel Maningas Malabaguio, 22; Kristine Marie Bianca Oliveros Reyes, 22; Sheryl Grace Adormeo, 24; Madelinda Orfinada Mendoza, 48, Zarah Jeanine Mendoza, 22; Luzviminda Rafa Adormeo, 57; Marieta Cuento Tanada, 65; and Jegline Bartoloso Lizo, 23.
Another passenger from the other bus identified as Celso Mandanas Aala, 41, sustained similar injury, Vito said.
They were all rushed to Peter Paul Hospital in Candelaria for treatment, he said.
Both vehicles are now under the police custody, Vito said.
