MANILA, Philippines – National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) chief Carmelo Valmoria said their augmentation team will be pulling out of Zamboanga City, almost four months after a standoff ensued between government forces and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), according to an Inquirer Radio 990AM report on Wednesday.

The report said the peace and order situation in the city has normalized. Valmoria was quoted saying that there was no more need for extra policemen in the area.

He said the pull-out would also mean that policemen under the NCRPO will be able to spend the rest of the holiday season with their families.
