Bank collector killed in Toledo

/ 09:11 AM September 08, 2011

A bank collector was shot to death by two unidentified men in barangay Magdugo, Toledo City, southwest Cebu, last Tuesday night.

Police discounted the possibility that robbery was the motive in the killing of Alvin Limoco, 33, collector of Fair Bank and resident of barangay Nangka, Balamban town.

Based on the messages found in the victim’s cell phone, personal grudges was the motive behind the killing, said Chief Insp. Jovito Canlapan, chief of the Toledo City police.

Limoco and his wife had separated. A third party was involved in the separation, said Canlapan.

Police said the assailants only took Limoco’s sling bag containing personal belongings. The assailants did not take the man’s cell phone and P40,000 cash kept in the U-box of Limoco’s motorcycle.

The man was driving home when a backrider of another motorcycle shot him.

Limoco’s motorcycle crashed. The gunman disembarked from the motorcycle and shot Limoco twice in the head and in the body.

The assailants fled toward barangay Lutopan.

Members of the Lutopan police conducted a checkpoint but failed to intercept the assailants.

Two empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
