Top racers dispute Rider of the Year plum as final heats of Kopiko Series get underway

Some of the best riders shift into higher gear today when the final heats of the Kopiko Supercross Series’ last leg get underway early today at the South Road Properties.

Yesterday, Asingan, Pangasinan native Rhowell Matias “Bornok” Mangosong IV showed his prowess in the first heat of the pro-lites division, getting the needed momentum going into today’s all-important race.

Mangosong IV, who lorded the pro-lite division in the previous leg last November in Dumaguete, edged Hungarian Decazi Balasz, who claimed the second place.

Cebu’s Jon Eleazar Adlawan still finished at third place after the first heat followed by Glenn Aguilar at fourth place and the former’s teammate Jubenile Abellar at the fifth spot.

According to Man and Machine Racing Promotions manager Jake Alcordo, the final heats of the 13 categories will be held today. At the end of the race, they will be able to come up with the winner of the coveted “Rider Of the Year” award. The awarding will be held tonight at the Sarrosa International Hotel.
