MANILA, Philippines—Rains are forecast in parts of Luzon and Mindanao on Wednesday, caused by the tail-end of a cold front affecting extreme northern Luzon and by the trough of a low pressure area in eastern Mindanao, the state weather bureau said.
A tail-end of a cold front is affecting extreme northern Luzon and a trough of a low pressure area is affecting eastern Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
“Batanes, Calayan, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region and Caraga (Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Dinagat Islands) will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southeast to northeast will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough, Pagasa said.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas.
