TV actor mauled by PCG officers

A26-year old local TV actor yesterday  accused a group of servicemen  of the Philippine Coast Guard of mauling him inside a restobar in barangay Basak, Mandaue City.
Christian Tariman, of barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City who appears in the  local television series “Antigo”, went to Basak Police Station together with his friends and filed a complaint against a group of men which was allegedly led by an officer of the coast guard.
Police identified the alleged group leader as Ensign Christian Jazmin, 35, who is assigned at the Coast Guard Detachment in Consolacion town. Tariman said Jazmin was with  five others.
Police said Tariman and Jazmin’s group were customers at Tonio’s Resto Bar in Insular Square Mall in Barangay Basak, Mandaue City.
Altercation
The two groups had an altercation that resulted in a melee. Tariman sustained bruises in the face.
The police has yet to determine what started the commotion. The rival camps accuse each other of being at fault.
The servicemen of the Philippine Coast Guard also went to the police station to file counter-charges against Tariman’s  group./ CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
