Caloocan businesswoman loses P100,000 to robbers

MANILA, Philippines — About P100,000 worth of valuables and cash were stolen from a businesswoman’s house in Caloocan City on Saturday evening.

The Caloocan Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Evelyn Años of Sawata, Maypajo, Caloocan City.

The businesswoman reported to the police that the theft was discovered at around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, after she and her family returned from a gathering in their neighborhood.

Años told the police that she discovered the house in disarray, with their cabinets and drawers forcefully opened, and the contents strewn across the house.

She also discovered that her vault, containing pieces of jewelry and cash totalling P100,000, had been pried open and emptied.

Investigators say there were no signs of forced entry in the house. However, the police had yet to identify suspects from the fingerprints they have obtained in the house.
