Man survives bridge jump

10:58 AM December 16, 2013

A 30-YEAR-OLD man believed to be mentally unstable was badly injured after he jumped off the Marcelo Fernan Bridge yesterday afternoon.
Police said the man was earlier seen walking at the bridge murmuring about the women who had left him.
Later, the man climbed the bridge railings.
SPO1 Joselito Catabas of the Regional Maritime Unit in Central Visayas saw the incident through the security cameras installed at the bridge.
Catabas then alerted his colleagues and the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LCPO)
Operatives of the LCPO rushed to the bridge.  A policeman tried to talk down the man but he suddenly leaped from the bridge.
Operatives of the RMU-7 fished the man out from the waters and rushed him to a hospital in Cebu City./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
