Tisa skateboard tilt opens

THE 2ND TISA Skateboard Competition blasts off today at the Tisa Proper Gym in Tisa, Labangon.

The event, which will be held from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., is aimed at encouraging the youth to spend their time in sports instead of indulging in vices.

“We feature events like this because we would like to encourage the Cebuano youth to take up sports and make them their hobbies like skateboarding so that their attention will be diverted from doing bad things and instead spend their time with more meaningful sports,” said Jeson Guardo, head of the organizing group G-Concept.

A total of 100 skateboarders are expected to join the event with defending champion Cliff Rigor spearheading the pack. Rigor won the top plum during the first edition of the tourney held last August.

Aside from skateboarding, an event called the “Fingerboard Competition” co-sponsored by Rebel Fingerboard, Dongkoi Diola and GAP, will also be held.

Registration is pegged at P50 for the skateboard competition and P30 for the Fingerboard competition. /Correspondent JADE S. VIOLETA
