MANILA, Philippines – The security guard who was allegedly hit on the head by a legislator has decided not to push through with filing a complaint but still requested for a public apology.
In a Radyo Inquirer 990AM report, the security guard identified as Ricardo Bunayog said he would no longer push through with filing a complaint against Lanao del Sur Rep. Mohammed Hussein Pangandaman.
The radio report quoted Bunayog as saying he was not going against a big personality.
Bunayog, however, clarified that he has neither received death threats nor has he made a settlement with the other party. He also said that he has not spoken with Pangandaman or any of his representatives.
The report further quoted Bunayog as saying that although Pangandaman has not apologized, he has already forgiven the legislator. But Bunayog added that a public apology would be very much welcome, the report said.
On Monday, media reports said Pangandaman allegedly punched Bunayog twice on the head after the latter had insisted that the legislator’s sports car with plate number “8’’ undergo the same security inspection as other vehicles that entered the UP Ayala TechnoHub along Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City.
However, in a separate report on Tuesday, Pangandaman denied the allegations saying that it was the security guard who had acted rudely first upon seeing his plate number adding that the guard had followed him to his parking slot where another row ensued.
Pangandaman also claimed that the guard had tried to draw his gun but he managed to stop him by hitting the guard on the head with some papers he was holding.
